ROUTE vs ROOT
ITS A WAR GOING ON OUTSIDE…With the increasing publicity of the innocent and not so innocent deaths of young black men I began to ponder on the reasons of such an outcry by the general public on an issue which has been our existence since we got to this forsaken country. I then began to think of all the people I have known to have died by violent nature and the one thing I couldnt help but think is…. THEY COULD HAVE BEEN AT HOME or WORK. They could have been doing something ROOTED in good. But instead they was on the ROUTE to evil. I hate when people use that ol biblical saying speaking of MONEY as the Root to all evil…. But the funny thing about homonyms sometimes… They are interchangeable and their meaning retains the same magnitude. ROUTE AND ROOT….. I wonder how many deaths of black men could be avoided if we were in the right place at the wrong time? Maybe Taryvon would still be here if he wasnt suspended from school for weed. Maybe Rodney King wouldnt have gotten beaten if he was at home being a Father that night. Maybe the dude shot at the video shoot would still be here if he was doing something positive that Sunday. Maybe my cousin would still be here if he was out on a righteous path. Maybe my best friend would be here if he was trying to be in the right place at that wrong time. I think we as a people, and Im talking black people, place entirely too much blame on the system and racism as the ROOT of our problems. HOWEVER IT IS THIS ROUTE OF EVIL THAT WE TAKE DAILY WHICH DESTINES US TO DEATH AND DEPRAVITY. Until we as ADULTS choose the right ROUTE to our salvation, our destiny will be ROOTed in despair.

Temptation talking to me
I try my best not to listen
The world fuckin wit me
Tryin to stop my ambition
And niggas talkin bout me
I know they hopin and wishing
That ima give it up or quit
But I say fuck all these bitches
Niggas talk to much
Lemme tell you this
If you ain’t seen where I been you can’t tell me shit
Spirits walking with me
I close my eyes and follow
I live for today
I might not see tomorrow
I heard it all before
All the lies and excuses don’t wanna see now more
Stupid shit I throw deuces
Dog im out the door
This so simple and plain
I keep it hardcore
You gon remember my name, the call me fatboy
Im such a pro at this thang
The whole key
Work hard get your doe at this thang
But people look at me
Judge, before they see the man
Cast stones im losin for they deal my hand
Could you roll one up
Smoke with me please
The devil got a player down on his knees
I don’t know why niggas think they wanna be like me
You gotta see what I see before you be like me
What you live for the truth but give nothing but pain
To anything evil for you soften your game
Words give life to the things that we think about
Life is hell
We go to heaven when we make it out
Yea, im like a thorn on a rosebush
Hard and prickely and discarded usually
Unseen, the world shittin on my hopes and dreams
Hope and dream that I can open up my throat and sing
Bring poetry and fly when I spread my wings
And let the world see the beauty in these ugly things
Scarred, like a scab, brittle and hard
Being green, and lame brings little reward
Slipping is a mistake and most they pay for it
Gruesomly hideous, so you really can’t ignore it
Yo, you see them pretty motherfuckas on the tv screen
Live and die for that fake shit on mtv
Turn the cameras off and watch our heroes transform
Runnin away from what real life did for em
Under the glitter and the bling of them expensive things
Thats where you find that truth and dogg that’ll set you free
The real shit is the shit that I would want for me
Not them fools tryin to copy everything they see
This I will never be
From me you’ll never see
Before I do it i’ll say fuck this whole industry
Could ya roll one up
Smoke with me please
The devil got a player down on his knees
I don’t know why niggas think they wanna be like me
You gotta see what I see before you be like me
Would you live for the truth but give nothing but pain
To anything evil puttin soft in your game
Words give life to the things that we think about
Life is hell we go to heaven when we make it out

Black Print
It is common knowledge that MLK had a major impact on the Civil Rights Movement in the favor of Blacks. However I feel the total opposite of what his dream entailed. I think that ASSIMILATION and INCLUSION in the status quo weakened the demographic economically and socially. The dream depicted a world where all races could mingle and mix on one level playing field. The mindset was from inception set in a mode where looking up to the status quo would be the path for the Afro demographic. A set of mind made in the belief that what we have is never enough. In order to show progression we must as a people be able to rise above our lackluster existence and aspire to have what the people across the track have. The whole grass greener on the other side of the fence moral. Here is how I FEEL about that Dream.
The neighborhood schools in the black community in Jacksonville are at an all time low on all learning levels. The number of students graduating are at all time lows. The number of students reading at grade levels are at all time lows. Children in the black communities are faced with budget cuts, subpar teachers, and low morale. The reason for this is not a conspiracy to destroy black children. It is not government coerced efforts to shutdown Black schools. The negative conditions of our people rest in the ol negro dream of inclusion in white society. …..DESEGREGATION….Since 1954 and Topeka we have always sought to obtain equality in education. Once it was possible to bus students to other areas, the good black students began leaving the inner city schools. And once more oppurtunities became available more and more of the best human resources began the Exodus to Suburbia. And with this Exodus the less developed components in society were left to fend for themselves. Thus creating a downward spiral of degradation and dispare within our inner city communities.
Education is only one of the facets in which we can see how the dream negatively impacted Black America. In other areas such as real estate we can see declining property values and horrible living conditions due to the vacation of the innercity by the empowered. Their vacation stagnates development socially and economically. And the effects can be felt community wide.

Malcolm Gladwell’s book ‘The Tipping Point’ describes that moment in time when the escalation of events reach a TIPPING POINT. The reaching and going beyond this tipping point results in an avalanche of Change. With Today’s economic conditions we have an opportunity to take back not only our hoods, but also our Race’s future. Right now in this day we have the unique opportunity to engage in the capitalistic structure in the most favorable of times. We are now in a situation where the demand is low, supply is high. The economic impact is a surplus. This surplus equal low prices. Low prices equal greater profit potential. simple economics. Only by creating and owning our own economic system can we alleviate the ailments of our communities. We have to be the small business owners, bankers, property owners, educators and builders. We have to be the job creators. The conditions have been set for this to be possible. IT’S TIME TO COME HOME.
The Red Letters
Man shiiid we fucked up out here. It’s all our fault. We sooo busy trying to be like dem crackers, dat we cant even much see bout our shit. niggas tryin to live lavish and shit and its all fronted. thats why they think niggas got bad credit. we leverage our mama for a big screen. lol. thats why the skools all fucked up n shit. thats why we got these bums round dis bitch walkn round. dats why dope outchea like dat everywhere. aint no money no where. yeah thats only because the money left the hood. we tryin to have the so called better shit in life and aint even know we coulda had that same shit here at home. A muthfukka goto to skool, graduate top of the black high school class then goto college graduate and then they act like they graduated the race. go get a good job, open up a successful business and take that the good resource that the hood made of them and go set up shop in suburbia. now instead of being able to pull your neighbor up you elsewhere. Desegration fucked up the loyalty in hood. trying to get to that other level made some niggas switch out on they brother. Thats why a nigga stereotype is that of “Selling out”. niggas have sold their soul. the old black negro spirituals is just that. old and black. now its dope and hoes… cars and furs… stacks of money and attitude. We let the moral fiber leave the hood. why do the prominent black churches leave their neighborhoods. when the church do it, prominent niggas follow suit. Shid when the social and economic centers left it was nothing but shit left… that smart student who ended up having smart children is gone. only thing left is the d student kids fuckin up the neighborhood skool. Until we as a people invest in our shit monetarily and physically, people gonna always have a negative disposition for us. how you want someone to be about you when you aint even bout you. niggas got shit fucked up.. and im telling you martin luther king started that shit. talking bout dessegragate n shit….fuck dat.. if i dont see bout mine why should i expect them to see about it. real talk… marcus garvey fuck martin. we can ALL BE ONE WORLD. WE ARE ALL ONE RACE, THE HUMAN RACE. WE ARE ALL UNIQUE. WE ALL HAVE SIMILARITES. ONLY BY EMBRACING YOURSELF IN THE HIGHEST ASPECT OF UNIQUENESS CAN WE PLAY OUR PART ON THE WORLD STAGE…. GET YOURS WITH WHAT YOU GOT… FUCK OTHER PEOPLE SHIT!!!! FOR REAL … The only way to fix this shit…. cant keep stepping on the brick… at one time you gonna have to add some more coke….
Sooo just gonna give the Red Letters a try. Today’s first installment is gonna touch on the damaging effects of Martin Lucifer Da Kang Junya’s DREAM!!!!!!

Gossip Mongering, Slandering, and Betrayal are characteristics of FRIENEMIES. In these days and times of social networking, these aforementioned entities rear their heads with lightening quickness. They are often spurred by misunderstandings, misinformation, and personal displacement. What I mean by this is, that all too many times we get mad and upset with others over what we perceive them to be saying to or about us. We jump to conclusions and often spit vicious venom their way when we weren’t even the intended target audience. Instead of allowing Social networking to destroy relationships ,sometimes built on years, we should get off the pc, off the phone and sometimes gain clarification through physical conversation. The intended purpose of the Social networking was TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS……
